Have You Visited Gorgeous Camps Bay Villas Yet?

December 30th, 2008 Comments off

For those of you who don’t know what a riad is, then hang on to your hats for the most exciting experience of your lifetime. Morocco riads will amaze, delight, thrill and entice you to come back for more. It’s guaranteed.

Living in a Morocco riad is one of the best ways to really get into the local flavor of the area and soak up the ambiance. Live like nobility during your stay and take home some of the most indelible memories you will ever have.

Most of the Morocco riads are situated in historical city centers, as in the medinas – the shopping areas of the cities. Think social bookmarking here and you have the right idea. The centers of commerce and all the hustle and bustle of the local day-to-day activities is the only place to be when in Morocco.

Riads, also spelled ryads were once ancient palaces and private homes that belonged to noble families, aristocrats and Sultans. How’s that for an exciting experience? Hidden away in the winding streets of the medinas you will see some superb architecture enhanced with colorful hangings, intricately carved furniture, spectacular courtyards and a richness of culture hard to find on any other holiday junket.

Many of these riads are now luxury bed and breakfasts or have been turned into boutique hotels. What an experience for the curious traveler. This is a whole new way to experience Morocco in style and in sync with the culture.

Just imagine what you could do when you arrived – explore the local medina, check out the stalls of brightly colored fabrics on display, inhale the rich odor of spices, test exotic perfumes and maybe even succumb to buying souvenirs. Oh, it’s tempting to buy the first thing you see, but hang on and make it sure you get into the spirit of marketplace haggling with the vendors.

What fun to participate in the daily lives of those living in Morocco. For the period of time you are there you may dream of being here permanently, of being able to run daily errands in the marketplace and return to your riad for respite and entertaining. How delightful, how delicious, how invigorating! What are you waiting for? Morocco is calling your name.

For further information about this wonderful place including additional travel accommodation, please visit: Morocco Holiday, Marrakech Riads, Camps Bay Holiday and experience a holiday like you’ve never seen before.

A Weekend Break In Germany’s Crazy Capital!

December 30th, 2008 Comments off

In October the new Oasis album has been in the shops. Before, fans had to wait 3 years for the new album to come out! And here it comes: Together with their album”Dig out your soul” the British boys go on a worldwide tour. Five concerts will take place in Germany and one of them will be in Berlin on 18th January 2009. This will take place in the Treptow arena and the price for tickets starts from 41,75 euros.

The band built around the Gallagher brothers started in the early 1990s. Up until today they have sold more than 50 million CDs and therefore they are one of the most successful bands. But the band might also be well known due to the scandals of the Gallagher brothers which are in the media regularly. Fights, drugs and other criminal offences is what you hear about very often. Nevertheless, the band is popular…the fans simply love their songs!
Since Noel Gallagher is the main composer and lead guitarists, his younger brother Liam is the singer of the band Oasis. But for the latest album, Liam and the other band members wrote some new songs.

Hits like „Wonderwall“ and „Don’t look back in anger“ are well known but Oasis had their big success with the album “Be here now” in 1997. Even today this is the most sold album ever. In America, England, Germany and Austria it was position 1 or 2 of the charts. This had been the 3rd album of the boys. By now they have released their 7th album and just started their tour with it.

You should definitely not miss out on seeing Oasis live! You can buy tickets at all ticket agencies. But hurry up! The band is very famous and their concert in the 18th January 2009 will be the only one in the German capital!

Buy your tickets for the show now and have a look for a good Unterkünfte berlin as well. For both, you should search soon to make sure you will get tickets and a suitable accommodation.
A berlin ferienwohnung is a good alternative to a berlin hotel. Usually, these are cheaper and you will all have more room there!

Once you are in Berlin do not miss all the monuments the city offers you! There is a lot to see and to do so why don’t you spend a long weekend there?

Find Out More About An Overview Of Lanzarote’s Timanfaya And The Purpose Built Resort Of Costa Teguise

December 28th, 2008 Comments off

Finding the perfect holiday villa rental can become an exhausting search if you don’t first start with the basics. You first need to figure out exactly what you want in a holiday rental. Some people prefer a spacious place to stay for, while others prefer quaint and comfortable. Once you have established exactly what type of holiday rental you want, you can start your search by picking a location.

Location is important when trying to locate a discount holiday villa rental. Holiday villas vary greatly in price depending on where you go and when. If you can travel during the off-season, you are likely to find a better deal. Some great villa rentals are available at times you would least expect.

Holiday villas at locations whose focus is on the warm summer months can be found at a great discount during the winter months. There will still be a lot for you to enjoy, but you can do so with less crowds and for less expense.

Once you have decided on the location of your search next your need to set yourself a price scale. What are you prepared to pay for your perfect holiday villa rental? How much is the cost of living in the area you have chosen? You don’t want to put yourself in debt for a holiday.

Once you have decided your budget, stick to it. Your rental cost will just be one part of your total vacation cost, and you will want to make sure you have plenty of money left over to enjoy the rest of your trip.

When you have booked a Lanzarote villa to rent to help you escape from the beach, then going to Timanfaya Volcano Park is a must and might be top of your list if it is your first visit to the island.

It is described as being a lunar scene and that is honestly the impression that you do get as you watch fields of solidified volcanic lava that have been untouched since they were laid down. The area is now a protected park to help preserve this landscape.

Once you reach the car park at the top of the visitor center there are an abundance of uniformed guides to entertain you. They will demonstrate how a bucket of water poured down into a bore hole erupts seconds later as steam, heated astonishingly quickly just by the heat of the rocks below the ground. Another favorite trick is to push some brushwood into the rocks and then it is pulled out burning moments later.

There is also a guided coach tour from the visitor center that lets tourists see a little more of the area and the rock formations. All of this makes Timanfaya, Fire Mountain, well worth a visit!

Costa Teguise is roughly centrally along the southern coast of Lanzarote, only around a 20 minute drive from the island’s airport and capital in Arrecife. The island’s traditional capital of Teguise is only about 10 to 15 minutes’ drive and is quiet, except during its weekly Sunday market, when many bargains and traditional items are to be discovered.

Costa Teguise is not a traditional village, but is a well built purpose built tourist resort. As such it is well laid out with shopping areas mingled around the various hotels and beaches. As with all of Lanzarote’s structures, there are no high rise building in sight and a large choice of various holiday accommodation.

Diving is possible from the handful of English speaking PADI and BSAC diving schools, but only really try dives are carried out as the local playa, Playa Jabillo, at only 5 metres deep is not sufficient for the majority of training. Most dive schools will run divers down to Puerto Del Carmen or for an almost totally unique experience, along to Mala and the lava caves.

You can go down to the main beach to visit the wind surfing schools and a vast area of sandy beach with the usual amenities and a shopping centre behind it. Quite a few of the hotels in the central area benefit from direct beach access. There is the only currently completed golf course on the island near to Costa Teguise.

Finding a villa in Costa Teguise is commonplace and there are an excellent choice of villas to choose from.

Or get yourself a vacation home :)

Manchester United Working Hard

December 26th, 2008 Comments off

With the English premier league hotting up with Liverpool looking to extend their advantage by over coming Arsenal in the soon to be held match and pushing ahead by 4 points. With Manchester United away in Japan for the Club World Cup, Liverpool can get ahead of their historic opposition.
Obviously Manchester United and Liverpool will be praying that none of their players] are rescue stretchered off. As price these players are bought and sold for the final thing you want is one of them stretched out on the sideline on their paraguard stretcher with weeks of physio and rehabilitation reports to return them to health.
Manchester United is particularly aware in this area with Saha at the moment nursing a hamstring injury which he received in Everton’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham in November – the particular game in which the great scorer Yakubu ruptured his Achilles, an injury that will rule the striker away from the game until the summertime.
Aston Villa appear to be about to break the monopoly of 4 on top places in the Premier League. Strength throughout the team could prove a problem later in the battle for Villa and it’s imperative the English duo of Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young, who have so far scored 17 goals between them this season, remain injury free.
With Manchester United away in Japan I am certain Alex Ferguson will be coming up against some restless nights hoping the club will get through unscathed. The massive pressure put upon players and managers frequently just builds tension which is then shown in how they play, you can see this in damage such as groin strain, hamstring injuries etc which is just a sign that the player is pushing to hard.
I hope that the coming season will show Manchester United in fine form, giving those who adore the sport with some fantastic soccer. Im sure like me you will be watching the news avidly to find out how they do in the coming matches.

Places To See Worthy Of A Visit To Keep You Occupied In Lanzarote

December 25th, 2008 Comments off

If you are looking for places to see when you have booked a villa in Lanzarote to rent to help you escape from the beach, then going to Timanfaya Volcano Park is a must and probably top of your list if it is your first visit to the island.

You are taken up to the top of the mountain, or drive in a hire car, to the car park at the visitor centre. The journey through the park is the start of the experience. It is described as being a lunar scene and that is honestly the feeling that you do get as you gaze across fields of solidified volcanic lava that have been untouched since they were laid down. The area is now a protected park to help preserve this landscape.

Once you reach the car park at the top of the visitor center there are an abundance of uniformed guides to entertain you. They will demonstrate how a bucket of water poured down into a bore hole erupts seconds later as steam, heated amazingly quickly just by the temperature of the rocks below the ground. Another favorite trick is to stick some brushwood into the ground and then it is pulled out burning seconds later. Again, this is just the heat of the ground.

The visitor centre also houses a fairly unusual restaurant There are no standard ovens. Instead the food is cooked from the heat given off by a hole in the ground. The demonstrations of the heat given off from the subterranean rocks are definitely varied!

There is also a guided coach tour from the visitor center that shows tourists a little more of the area and the rock formations. All of this makes Timanfaya, Fire Mountain, well worth a visit!

When you are renting an apartment in Lanzarote there are lots to see and do, not just the beaches and Timanfaya National Park. The island is easy to explore whether in a hire car or in organized tours. Take your pick!

A favorite location to visit, especially for my little one, is the Cactus Garden, created by local artist Cesar Manrique. There are a wide selection of cactus plants on show, well over 1000 species in fact, in this sunken display that can be sheltered from the hottest of the elements. There is also a restored white windmill to visit within the gardens, which includes the site’s café for a welcome refreshment or snack.

Also worth a quick visit is El Golfo, a semi-circular volcanic crater. The crater has been half washed away by the sea, hence not being complete, and filled with sea water that has filtered through the black sand that separates the sea from the crater. The water in the crater has formed a green lagoon, which is caused by the algae growing in the water and it contrasts spectacularly with the surrounding black sand.

Another popular spot, and the target of many coach tours, is the Cave of Los Verdes. These are a complex of underground caves that were formed in the lava some 3,000 years ago and were used as shelter to the early population when the pirates of old came raiding. They are well worth a visit, even if only to find out what the secret is of Lanzarote. You only get to see it by visiting the cave and I’m not about to tell you now!

And get that vacation home!!

Free Guide to Looking At The Lanzarote Destinations Of Costa Teguise

December 23rd, 2008 Comments off

Puerto Del Carmen is situated roughly centrally along the southern coast of Lanzarote, only around a short drive from the island’s capital and airport in Arrecife. Puerto Del Carmen started off life as a small fishing village and the old harbor remains for visitors to explore and visit the many seafood restaurants. It now encompasses around six kilometers of beaches, including wide beach expanses and small coves.

There are many diving schools in Puerto Del Carmen for both the learner, the experienced and those wanting to further their diving training. Both PADI and BSAC are generally accepted and English is spoken at many diving schools. Most schools utilize the same small bay from which shore entries and harbor entries are available on a range of dives, including a reef with Pink Coral. Motoring further out are the Los Erizos wrecks at a depth of about 20m. A collection of boats sunk to create an artificial reef for divers to visit just outside of the harbor entrance.

If you fancy seeing the variety of sea-life on offer, but don’t want to enter the water, there is always the yellow submarine tour, which also visits the wrecks. Watch out for the divers watching the submarines go by… There are also cycle hire stores in the main shops and a new golf course under construction on the out skirts of the town.

With Lanzarote’s strict planning permission there are no high rise hotels in the resort. Finding villas to rent in Puerto Del Carmen is commonplace and there are an excellent choice of villas available.

Meanwhile, Costa Teguise is situated roughly centrally along the southern coast of Lanzarote, only around a short journey from the island’s capital and airport in Arrecife. Experience Of A Lifetime – Essaouira Holiday

December 20th, 2008 Comments off

There is no better way to see the sights of Marrakesh than to stay in a local riad. Posh, elegant, different and simply out of the norm, you will find this accommodation to be perfect for your much-anticipated stay.

Cape Town Apartments

Riads or ryads were once upon a time considered to be ancient palaces and private homes. The best part about this is that they also used to belong to noble families, aristocrats and Sultans. You want to bet the first thing you’re going to do when you get there is to check out all the rooms for hidden compartments and maybe even a hidden passageway or two? How much fun would that be?

Marrakech Medina

You simply have to take a digital camera, or any camera with you, and record your indoor adventure at your Marrakesh riad. Marrakesh riads are tucked away into the winding streets of the city. Hard to find at first, but once you get the hang of where you are, it’s easy. What a super adventure, a Marrakesh riad to call you own for the duration of your stay.

What’s inside your riad will tell you all kinds of stories about the owners. Imagine the brightly colored doors that announce one’s station in life, the intricate wall hangings in bright colors that liven up the atmosphere and the gaily-splashing fountain in the center courtyard that acts as a small paddling pool.

Essaouira Holiday

How luxurious, how enchanting, how just so “chic chic” that you want everyone to visit your Marrakesh riad. The sense of time gone by, the culture, the history of this place would enthrall you for hours, days, perhaps even weeks. For it takes many, many visits to this striking country to absorb the culture and the exotic way of life.

Another place which was an awesome experience was staying in Kolkata, India for 3 months for a work project I had. It was so much more than that though and really was a totally incredible experience teaching me so much about myself and about experiencing true culture. Especially how kind some people can be in other sides of the world. Truly wonderful people and it just makes me think how we should see the most of the world and meet as many interesting people as we can. That is why you will just love Marrakech!

There are so many things to see and do in Morocco and in Marrakesh as well. The sights, the sounds, the nightlife, the market places, the churches/mosques, the art galleries, museums and oh the list is absolutely endless. You will be so delighted with your vacation here; you will come back time and time again.

The Fascinating History Of Olvera Within The Costa Del Sol For The Avid Visitor.

December 20th, 2008 Comments off

Olvera is often announced as the ‘best of the white towns’. With a population of 1200 it is larger than the majority of pueblos. Olvera is really in Cadiz Province but if staying at a Apartment in Casares it is reachable for a very special day out.

The pueblo demonstrates the traditional Spanish much loved white washed houses, steep narrow streets, churches and castle. It has more than enough for the holiday visitor. Those in the area in August will be welcomed to the local fair which is renowned for being the most lavish in the region. It lasts for some 5 nights, finishing at approximately 5am, singing and dancing, side shows, stalls – it has the lot! In the daytime the visitor can expect to be treated to football matches, clay-pigeon contests and novice bullfights to name but a few.

How Olvera came to be so named is a bit of a mystery. Some say it is very simply to do with the number of olive trees in the area. Giving perhaps some credence to this theory is the fact olive oil is one of the area’s main agricultural products. Indeed it might be that simple but others say it is to do with its Arabic history when it was called ‘Wupira’. The castle was part of Granada’s line of defence. In 1327 the pueblo was conquered by Alfonso XI.

Wherever it got its name from the pueblo is most certainly steeped in history and there has been a pueblo in its location for some 12 thousand years.

In 1983 Olvera was declared officially to be of Artistic and Historical buildings. This is a huge change however from the 1800s when the pueblo was the home of outlaws and murderers! Being such a good place to take refuge from the law a famous regional saying emerged into folklore ‘Kill your man and flee to Olvera!’ Thankfully those days are now long gone.

These days the pueblo is seen by many to be of great religious significance. A monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus perched on a natural outcrop is the focus. Many a believer has crawled on hands and knees in pilgrimage. It is to do with the vow to the popular sanctuary of the Hermitage Church of “Nuestra Señora de los Remedios” (Our lady of the Remedies). The sanctuary is situated just over a mile from Olvera on the road to Torre Alháquime. This is a unique building and well worth the visit.

Also worth a visit is the Iglesia de la Encarnación church. The church in fact hides one of the best small museums in the region.

A tourist attraction not to be missed if at all possible is the 24 mile ruta verde. A disused railway line forms the route which links Olvera to Puerto Serrano. Very simply this is an incomplete railway line and is today seen as one of the best walking experiences in Andalucía.

There are plenty of suitable Costa Del Sol Apartments in which to stay to tour the area, choose from Caseras, Calahonda, Mijas Costa, Benahavis or Benalmadena.

Get vacation home – learn how.
