Here you will be exposed to the lifestyles of the real people of the homestead era. The buildings in this community have been salvaged and moved to the site, restored to original condition and opened to the public. You will see buildings such as the first log cabin built by the regions first black homesteader. You can visit the mortuary of the era and then stop off at the saloon for a change of pace.

The history available for you to study in this environment is truly amazing. The Old West comes alive in your step back in time when you enter the town. See how the general store operated, what was available for purchase. Check out the blacksmith shop and see how, before Lowe’s or Home Depot, the blacksmith shop was really a form of the hardware store.

The town continues to grow as other buildings are acquired and moved to the site. All this is done by the family of Kenneth Dobby, originator of this great project. Since it is a free site please be generous in your donation to assist the family in continuing to bring in more buildings and restore them to condition. Let’s keep this treasure growing for the youth of today and tomorrow.
