You will not find any other place in the world that celebrates the incredible power of water like Rome. The Trevi Fountain is a fantastic work of art that is much more than a mere sculpture. This triumphant example of Baroque art with its soft, natural lines and fantasy creatures embodies movement as the soul of the world. The fountain is a true wonder, a jewel of water and stone that is nestled between the palaces of the historic centre of the city.
Rome’s Trevi Fountain is one of Rome’s best attractions, and tourists from all over the world come to see it each year. A popular attraction for locals too, this fountain is at the heart of Rome and quite probably Italy’s most famous fountain.
The “Fontana di Trevi” or Trevi Fountain is situated in the small Trevi square located in the Quirinale district and is surrounded by pretty cafes and Geladerias. Easy to access and really central, it is simple to catch the metro at Barberini A. There is plenty of apartments in Rome and Rome hotel nearby for your use.
The Trevi fountain is magnificent as it is made out of bright white marble and is the result of a request in 1732 when Pope Clement XII commissioned Nicola Salvi to create a large fountain at the Trevi Square. It’s history does go back to the Roman times however, as it was the terminal point of the Aqua Virgo aqueduct commissioned by Augustus, which was used to provide water for the thermal baths. The water that flows here has two names: Virgin Waters and Trevi. The first refers to an ancient legend about a young Roman girl who showed the source of the spring to some thirsty soldiers; whereas Trevi derives from the old name for the area, which was originally called Trebium.
The central figure of the fountain, in front of a large niche, is Neptune, god of the sea. He is riding a chariot in the shape of a shell, pulled by two sea horses. Each sea horse is guided by a Triton. One of the horses is calm and obedient, the other one restive. They symbolize the fluctuating moods of the sea. On the left hand side of Neptune is a statue representing Abundance, the statue on the right represents Salubrity. Above the sculptures are bas-reliefs, one of them shows Agrippa, the girl after whom the aqueduct was named.
Finally, after making sure you stay in central accommodation Rome, make the most of your trip to Trevi Fountain why not keep up the following local tradition… Legend has it that you will return to Rome one day if you toss a coin into the bottom of the fountain (said to represent the sea) Make sure you toss the coin over your shoulder with your back to the fountain though!

Russia and China are two the most beautiful counties you must visit in your life. During last 2 years those two destinations became the most popular among American and European tourists. And, if you well prepared, the “Russian Vacation” could really be the best option to spend your leisure time and long waiting family vacation. There are many agencies and websites offer travel Visa to Russia and Chinese Visa. These agencies and websites make easy way to get travel visa or business visa online.
Every foreigner requires a visa to get into Russia. Normally, tourist Russian visas are valid up to 30 days. To get the tourist Russian visa, first, you must get a tourist invitation (aka visa support letter or tourist voucher) from Russia and then apply at the Russian consulate for the visa. A local agent can also do this for you. Be little heedful since some local agents and hotels lock the foreigners into a fixed travel plan or limit the validity of visa to the period you are staying at the specific hotel. The websites would be very useful for the independent travelers to easily get travel visa to Russia and to take an itinerary upon your requirements.
The tourist visa can be processed in 1 to 10 days, although to get an invitation takes only 1 to 24 hours, all you have to do is to e-mail or fax the scanned copy of your passport and hotel reservation confirmation, plus the copy of air tickets if required. Please note, that in order to process your visa the original documents are required at the consulate. The charge for tourist invitation could be from $30 for normal processing and $60 for quick processing.
Once your tourist invitation is ready, you must get passport, passport-size photograph, consulate application form, and consulate-specific documents ready to apply for the Visa to Russia. Travel agencies would charge between $40 and $80 for this service. The consular fees starts from $131 for normal processing (it would take six to ten business days) and $300 for Same Day Visa Processing (it would be processed in one business day). Once you reach Russia, you must follow the procedure for finishing a migration card and filing your visa. Plus, upon your arrival do not forget to make your visa registration if you are staying longer than 3 business days in one city.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and China Travel Service are responsible for issuing visas to the foreigners. There are three types of visas in China, which are L visa, F visa, and Z visa. Many agencies are there to help you to get Chinese visa. In general, it may take three to five days to process you visa. To get Chinese visa, you must have your passport, two recent passport-sized photographs, copy of hotel bookings, copy of return flight ticket, and a bank statement showing a minimum of US $3,000. In case of emergencies, you can approach the CTS travel service (a quasi-state organization), who can process the documents very quickly and get your Same Day Visa Processing; however, of course, you will be charged a bit more than the normal one. In general, the Chinese visas are effective for 30 days.
During regular circumstances, you can get extension of your visa period for 30 more days, just by paying additional fee. Very often, the prices and the rules for the applications of Chinese visa vary and you are advised to check them in ahead.

Perhaps one of the most exciting things I’ve done in Rome is visited the ruins at Ostia Antica which are some of the best preserved ruins to date. With its impressive Forum, large baths complex and more than one Mithraeum, you will need a good half day or more to walk around the the Ostia ruins at leisure. Great for exploring, these ruins are so detailed that you can really imagine what it would have been like to live in this seaside port. Ostia still boasts impressive mosaics and columns everywhere (statues are mostly taken away for safekeeping), and highlights include the smaller domestic details: the fishmonger’s marble slab, the bar with its wares illustrated on the wall, the communal public toilets and the residential villas with peaceful courtyards. Almost all ruins of Ostia Antica were unearthed in the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. The first systematic excavations, initiated by pope Pius VII, were carried out by Petrini in the years 1801-1805.
The best way to reach Ostia is by using the metro. You can leave your accommodation in Rome in the morning and be at Ostia within half an hour. Trains leave at station Piramide: get off the regular metro at Piramide, go up the escalator, turn immediately left and down the steps into the Roma-Lido station. Trains also leave at station Magliana, but we advise Piramide: this way you’re sure to find a seat on the train. A normal metro ticket will suffice for the entire journey. You need to alight at the Ostia Antica stop which is about 20minutes from the city. For a more scenic route, Ostia is also reachable by boat. You can buy your ticket to take the boat at the info point located near the Tevere river, in front of Castel San Angelo.
The town of Ostia Lido today is a very different place. A place popular with tourists and young people, Ostia is now a modern, tourist driven resort. Although it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it can’t be denied that it has a very cool party scene during the summer. In the Summer months, Romans love to hit Ostia’s beaches by day, (to enjoy the sun in one of the many paying beach establishments or at the free beach of Castel Porziano), and by night, when Romans venture out to mingle and party in one of the many clubs on the Ostia main sea strip. If you want to experience the fantastic nightlife at Ostia why not rent a apartment in Rome or hotels Rome and take a short break.
The season in Ostia starts picking up around May and in June when most of the clubs start opening their doors to Romans and tourists with their open air dance floors, candle-lit exotic lounge bars where the most cutting edge djs entertain a young and vibrant crowd.
Some of the most popular spots are the Shilling, the Spiaggetta, the Open Bar( where you can sip cocktails by the pool) and the Faber beach( where people like to sit directly on the sand with a bottle of beer and listen to music).

The Jazz Fest Berlin has a long and enviable history. It started out in 1964 and has for the rest of this decade been involved in presenting some very interesting and swinging concerts. The Berlin Jazz festival gained momentum in its early years due to it being closely connected with the late Joachim Ernst Berendt. A total solar eclipse is a spectacular natural phenomenon and many people visiting to remote locations to observe one. The 1999 total eclipse in Europe helped to increase public awareness of the phenomenon, as illustrated by the number of journeys made specifically to witness the 2005 annular eclipse and the 2006 total eclipse. The next solar eclipse will occur on August 1, 2008, and will be a total eclipse.
Novosibirsk, the center of Siberia, will become the center of an amazing astronomical phenomenon - the unique total solar eclipse on this time.
The total eclipse with a width of about 250 km will cross the Western Siberia from the north to the south, then will cross the Altai Mountains and will go further to the difficult to access regions of China and Mongolia. The maximum eclipse will be at 10:21:08 UT, when the maximum time of the total phase will last just under 2:27 minutes in Nizhnevartovsk, 2:20 min in Novosibirsk and 2:14 min in the Altai region. Weather conditions in Siberia at this time of the year are also favorable for eclipse observation. The city is preparing to host thousands of visitors and organizing some free areas for watching the eclipse. About 100-150 telescopes will be set around the city.
In ancient times, and in some cultures today, solar eclipses have been attributed to supernatural causes. Although, it is safe to observe the total phase of a solar eclipse directly with the unaided eye, binoculars or a telescope, when the Sun’s photosphere is completely covered by the Moon; indeed, it is too dim to be seen through filters. The Sun’s faint corona will be visible, and the chromospheres, solar prominences, and possibly even a solar flare may be seen. However, viewing the Sun after totality can be dangerous and it’s extremely recommended to take care of it before traveling.
Solar eclipses occur during a new moon, lunar eclipses – during a full moon. Usually there are two lunar and two solar eclipses a year. The maximum amount of eclipses is seven. Lunar and solar eclipses repeat in the same order in definite periods of time. This special eclipse circle is called Saros (Egyptian – repetition), it lasts 18 years, 11 days. There are 70 eclipses in every Saros, 42 solar and 28 lunar. Total solar eclipses are rare and occur once in 200-300 years.
The next total solar eclipses will occur in Northern America in 2017, in Europe – in 2026, and in Russian Federation – in 2030.

As Ambassador to Moldova since July 2006 for the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe’s (OSCE), Louis O’Neill has maintained a firm commitment to free and fair elections there. Democratic processes, the rule of law and good elections are an essential precondition for creating and maintaining the human security and freedom that the OSCE aims to bring to all its participating States.
In December 2006, Ambassador Louis ONeill led the OSCE Mission to Moldova in observing two rounds of elections for the Bashkan (Governor) of Gagauzia, an autonomous province in the country’s south. The elections there were generally held in a calm and orderly manner. “We commend the Gagauz electoral authorities for a good administration of the second round of elections,” said Ambassador O’Neill.
According to the Head of Mission, during the second round on December 17, 2006 campaign conditions improved considerably in comparison with the first round held two weeks earlier on December 3. “Both candidates enjoyed equal access to the media and had the opportunity to take part in televised debates on Teleradio Gagauzia,” Ambassador Louis O’Neill said.
OSCE Mission Members visited all 64 polling stations on Election Day and followed the counting procedures in six locations after the polls closed.
The people of Moldova continue to suffer due to the effects of separatism by the breakaway region of Transnistria. This was apparent during the last round of local and municipal elections in Moldova, where access to polling centers in left-bank (Transnistrian-controlled) villages, particularly around Corjova, was severely impeded by the Transnistrian authorities. Ambassador Louis O’Neill and his team worked tirelessly to ensure that all Moldovans eligible to vote were able to access a polling center in the last election.
Despite these efforts and a deep commitment to fair elections on the part of the OSCE, Transnistrian militiamen forced their way into the Moldovan polling place in Corhova on the day of the election, blocking voters and shutting it down.
“Closing down a polling station by force is unacceptable,” said Ambassador Louis O’Neill. “The OSCE Mission made intensive efforts over the last days to mediate a solution which would have prevented this escalation. We deeply regret that it was not possible to find such a solution and that Corjova voters were again deprived of their right to elect a mayor and a local council.” O’Neill was referencing an incident two weeks earlier in which Transnistrian militiamen so effectively blocked access to polls that only 99 out of 1350 voters were able to vote, rendering the election invalid.
Ambassador Louis O’Neill expressed his concern for maintaining the peace along with ensuring that fair elections take place in Moldova. “Mission members counted approximately 70 Transnistrian militiamen and about 40 Moldovan police in and around the polling station on Sunday,” said Ambassador O’Neill. “The Moldova authorities showed restraint by not bringing in additional forces to attempt to repel the Transnistrian seizure of the voting place. Such a move could have driven events beyond control. Overall it was clear that neither side wished to further escalate this very difficult situation.”
Ambassador O’Neill’s ability to work with both sides and deep understanding of their political and cultural differences are an expression of his genuine commitment to protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova with a special status for the Transnistrian region.

Russian Fashion Week (RFW) has recently become number one fashion event in Russian Federation as well as in the Eastern Europe.
The past four seasons have established it as a regular entry in the world fashion calendar next to national fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, London, New York. Russian Fashion Week which is held in Capital of Russia twice per year, in April and October, covers all of the former Soviet Union, the so-called Russian-speaking territory. The RFW basics are Russian designers, but every season sees the best designers from former Soviet republics: Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Moldova, Lithuania, etc. Every season, the RFW Organizing Committee studies over 100 entries but chooses only the best collections for the RFW runways.
RFW has already got and still developing cooperation with a number of international fashion weeks world over. Among them there are fashion weeks in Italy, China Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Portugal, Mexico, Greece, India, Check Republic, Brasil, Norway, etc. At this stage RFW organizational committee is globalizing and diversifying its achievements on Russian market and at the same time co-producing Fashion Weeks in St. Petersburg and other Russia cities and former USSR capitals.
Russian Fashion Week has joint ventures with the world’s largest fashion institutions. These collaborations result in national designer days during RFW’s annual events. In the fall of 2004, “British Day” was held, featuring Matthew Williamson, Sophia Kokosalaki, Jenny Packhamand other top English designers. In Spring 2005, Russian Fashion Week invited Spanish designers Konrad Muhr, Alma Aguilar, Devota& Lomba, Isabel de Pedro, Armand Basi and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. In Autumn 2005, in October, the RFW hosted the Italian Day supported by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. Italian Day has featured top designers like Romeo Gigli, Guerriero, Exte’, La Perla, and Polliniby RifatOzbek. RFW spring-summer 2007 season International Day was dedicated to the US. American Designers Baby Phat, Laundry by Shelli Segal and Rebecca Taylor presented their summer 2007 collections in the frames of American Day on RFW. Russian Fashion Week International Cooperation will lead to more International Days of such countries as China, New Zeland, Canada, Greece and etc.
This year (March 30 - April 6) 58 designers from all over the world presented Autumn/Winter 08/09 collections on RFW venue at World Trade Center. First to open the week was Valentin Yudashkin who is one of the most known Russian names in fashion, and there is a reason for that. He was one of the first to adopt the western values and build a successful business in early 1990th. Since then, with the rise of democracy and opening of the commerce channels, many new Russian names make it to the global market. Among them Tatyana Parfionova, Denis Simachev, Maxim Chernizov, Elena Souprun, Sergey Teplov, Viva Vox, Konstantin Gayday, Chistova&Endourova, Vika Gazinskaya, Masha Kravtzova, Elena Goletchz, Elena Makashova, Leonid Alexeev, Masha Sharoeva, Olga Brovkina, Elena Vorrea and many others.
Next Russian fashion week presenting Spring/Summer 2009 collections will take place 28 Oct - 3 Nov 2008 (dates might vary)at World Trade Center Capital of Russia.

Get Chargers tickets for all the big games
Even though I’ve been a huge football fan my whole life, I’ve only seen a handful of games in person. That’s because here in the San Diego area, Chargers tickets are pretty expensive and hard to come by — especially since the team has emerged as a perennial contender for the AFC West title. Plus, with franchise players like LaDainian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates on the roster, as well as promising young guys like Philip Rivers and Anotnio Cromartie, it’s just going to get even more difficult to score good Chargers tickets in upcoming seasons.
Prefer an article about Holiday Games Ideas.
For those of us who don’t have any inside connections with the San Diego organization, the best shot at getting Chargers tickets would be by going through an online ticket broker. Contrary to popular belief, using a ticket broker doesn’t automatically mean you’ll end up spending hundreds of dollars above face value to get into the game you want to see. Instead, most ticket brokers simply tack on a nominal fee to cover their service charges. I don’t know about you, but I’d gladly pay that in order to get Chargers tickets for all the big games!
Best available deals on Chargers tickets
Since there are so many brokers operating online today, it pays to do a bit of homework before forking over your cash. By spending time comparing different pricing structures, you’ll likely end up securing the best available deals on Chargers tickets. I’ve used a couple of brokers in the past, and I think it’s important to have a stadium seating chart handy before ordering so you can see exactly where your seats will be. That way, you’ll have a better idea of whether or not you’re getting charged a fair price for your Chargers tickets.
Another thing I always do before ordering is check out the broker’s reputation with past customers. I’m not talking about the testimonials found right there on the website, but about genuine, honest feedback at third-party sites from unbiased customers. That’s where you can learn about how good the broker’s seats are, how their customer service is, and how easy it was to pick up your Chargers tickets on game day. These are all important considerations that shouldn’t be overlooked.
Take it from a longtime San Diego football fan: there’s nothing like catching a game in person at Qualcomm Stadium when the Bolts are in the hunt for a playoff berth! Be sure you have a way to buy some Chargers tickets this season so you can get in on the action too!
